Graduate Profile

Graduates of the Master of Notarial Law Program are prepared to pursue careers as:

  • Academics and Researchers in Notarial and Legal Studies

  • Legal Professionals, including prospective Notaries, Land Deed Officials (Pejabat Pembuat Akta Tanah – PPAT), Legal Drafters, Legal Officers, Advocates, Judges, and members of Legal Divisions.

Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL)

Graduates are expected to achieve the following learning outcomes:

CPL1
Exhibit integrity and professional ethics grounded in maritime and archipelagic values.

CPL2–CPL3
Demonstrate mastery of legal theories relevant to the duties and functions of Notaries, PPATs, and legal professionals;
Demonstrate competence in the drafting of authentic deeds and legal documents accurately and correctly.

CPL4–CPL6
Develop critical, logical, and systematic thinking structured through scientific concepts and research findings;
Conduct academic validation and scholarly analysis in the field of notarial law to resolve legal problems;
Communicate and articulate legal arguments effectively.

CPL7–CPL8
Provide well-founded legal advice and problem-solving in notarial practice;
Demonstrate advanced technical skills in drafting authentic deeds and other legal instruments.

 

Admission Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor of Law degree (Sarjana Hukum).

  • Successfully pass the Hasanuddin University Graduate Admission Test.

Admission Capacity

The program admits approximately 100–120 students per academic year, with two intakes annually.

Student Admission Quota

Admissions to the Master of Notary Program are open twice a year, with a quota of 100 to 120 new students per year.

Teaching and Assessment Strategies

Teaching in the Master of Notarial Law Program applies student-centered learning (SCL) principles, emphasizing active student engagement in critical thinking and problem-solving.

Assessment methods are designed to ensure achievement of learning outcomes through assignments, examinations, class discussions, individual or group presentations, quizzes, legal problem-solving exercises, legal drafting practices, and simulations.

Credit Requirements

A total of 54 credits (SKS), consisting of:

  • Core Courses: 10 credits

  • Supporting Courses: 12 credits

  • Elective Courses: 2 credits

  • Thesis and Research Work: 30 credits

 

Credit Distribution per Semester

  • Semester I: 16 credits

  • Semester II: 18 credits

  • Semester III: 20 credits

Duration of Study

The program is designed to be completed in 3 semesters (1.5 years), with a maximum study period of 6 semesters.
Students who fail to complete the program within six semesters are subject to dismissal (Drop-Out).

Drop-Out Policy

A student will be dismissed from the program if:

  • The maximum study period expires;

  • The student withdraws voluntarily;

  • The student’s GPA in the first semester is below 2.75;

  • The cumulative GPA after two semesters is below 3.00;

  • The student receives an “E” grade in any course;

  • The student is convicted of a criminal offense or violates university or governmental regulations.

The dismissal decision is enacted by Rector’s Decree.

 

Curriculum Structure

Timely Completion Strategy – 3 Semesters (1.5 Years)

  • First Year: Students undertake foundational and core courses covering legal philosophy, theory, and notarial ethics. They begin drafting their research proposal as part of the thesis requirement.

  • Second Year: Students conduct research and present findings in the Research Seminar. They are also required to submit an article to a reputable Scopus-indexed international journal.

  • Third Year: Students focus on completing the thesis and final defense after their article achieves “under review” status in a Scopus-indexed journal or proceedings.

Facilities

The Faculty of Law provides comprehensive academic facilities, including lecture halls, reading rooms, legal clinics, legal drafting laboratories, moot courtrooms, video conference rooms, academic consultation offices, and elevators for accessibility.

Digital infrastructure includes LCD screens, Wi-Fi hotspots, and integrated e-learning platforms (Sikola and Law Information System), Neosia, and the official website.

University-level facilities also include the Central Library, Sports Center, Counseling Center, and access to subscribed legal databases such as Hukumonline.com and ScienceDirect.

The Master of Notarial Law Program employs 37 lecturers, including:
